Michelle Hagen to Lead Consumer Products Retail Development for Universal Brand Development

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA, February 15, 2017 — Michelle Hagen has been named Senior Vice President, Consumer Products Retail Development, for Universal Brand Development it was announced today by Manuel Torres Port, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Consumer Products, Universal Brand Development.

As Senior Vice President, Consumer Products Retail Development, Hagen will lead the strategic development and implementation of Universal’s consumer products at retail, driving programs that build long-term franchises as well as maximize revenue of Universal’s vast entertainment portfolio of theatrical and television properties. In her new role, Hagen will also be evaluating key insights and tracking measures and identifying critical areas of growth as retail evolves, focusing on the biggest wins for accounts, and maintaining important relationships with our retail partners.

Prior to joining the Universal Brand Development team, Hagen was Senior Vice President, Global Partnership Marketing for Universal Pictures. During her 10-year tenure, Hagen was responsible for the strategic development, creation and negotiation of Global Theatrical and DVD partnerships for Universal Pictures. Hagen helped spearhead highly successful global campaigns, which helped establish groundbreaking franchises such as Despicable Me, Fast & Furious, Fifty Shades of Grey, Pitch Perfect, Jurassic World and The Secret Life of Pets.

An entertainment industry veteran with more than 25 years of film marketing experience, Hagen joined Universal in 2006 after managing her own partnership marketing agency, The Hagen Company, where she worked with clients such as Universal Pictures & Focus Features, Sony Pictures, Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros.

Hagen’s experience spans across media, publicity, promotions and global marketing duties at studios such as Orion Pictures, MGM/UA, Fox Searchlight Pictures and IMAX Corporation.
