Job Description

The Licensing Manager works closely with upper management and the sales and design teams to bring products to market. He/she coordinates the requirements of licensors and of retailers in generating product offerings. He/she also interacts with consumer products companies to facilitate acquisitions and renewals of licenses, in addition to tracking and reporting royalty obligations.

We are looking for a manager who will “roll up their sleeves” and take on projects and get things done. If the project includes the word “license” or “licensing” it will be your responsibility.

Responsibilities include:
• Take part in directing the creative aspect of licensed rug business, including adult/home, Juvenile/Tween and Interactive Play Categories
• Manage the day-to-day contacts with licensors (Disney, Hit, Nickelodeon and Hasbro; Thomasville and Drexel Heritage)
• Work directly with sales team to create licensed product lines for specific retailers
• Source and Manage toys used for interactive play rugs
• Seek out new, on-trend licenses for the adult/home and the juvenile businesses.
• Manage submissions and product approvals, including packaging, ensuring that concepts and product are approved in a timely manner by licensor
• Approve all licensed products, including packaging, before they go into production
• Prepare forecasts for licensors on a quarterly basis
• Prepare other reports for licensors as needed
• Prepare royalty reports for each licensor, ensuring that amounts paid are accurate, and that we are in line with meeting guarantees and advances
• Make sure all factories are compliant with CPSIA guidelines and licensor requirements
• Oversee packaging development for licensed product.
• Negotiate new contracts and renegotiate any upcoming renewals

Job Requirements

Required qualifications:
• Extensive experience with licenses, preferably on both the licensor (ie, Disney, Nickelodeon, Mattel, etc) and licensee sides
• Product Development and Merchandising Experience are a must, and affinity towards the product line is a big plus
• Accounting capability as needed for detailed royalty reporting.
• Ability to create effective Power Point presentations and to formulate Excel spreadsheets
• A roll-up-your-sleeves attitude towards taking on projects and getting things done
