About the Company

Based in Atlanta and reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Licensing for Serta Simmons Bedding, the Licensing Brand Manager is responsible for managing the Serta brand strategy and activation across the product licensee portfolio. This highly experienced brand steward will define, grow and manage the Serta-brand product-licensing program, achieve target sales and royalties while building brand growth and equity, and lead the roll-out of the Serta brand vision and strategies.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

Licensing Management
•Plan, build annual business plan, forecast and manage operational budget
•Analyze product licensing categories, markets, and licensee product plans to develop operational strategies to maximize royalties and brand value.
•Help negotiation and approval of licensing deal memos, amendments and renewals.
•Understand each licensees unique issues that are barriers to success and work with licensee to create strategies to remove barriers and to achieve new levels of success
•Meet with retailers on an as-needed basis to promote the company and brands as it pertains to licensed goods categories
•Ensure licensee compliance based on contractual terms such as royalty reporting, audits, forecasting, marketing, product development and insurance
•Manage licensees during their product development, pricing and product launch phases
•Attend bedding and related partner trade show markets

Brand Management
•Be the voice and brand steward of the Serta brand globally for the licensing portfolio
•Understand all brand platforms and present product lines, consumer brand marketing, brand architecture and segmentation/merchandising strategies to roll out the Serta brand vision and strategies and drive brand growth and equity
•Develops and executes long-term licensing strategy to drive brand equity and maximize brand-licensing value. This includes identifying / developing new categories based on Serta brand strategies/target, identifying new licensing partners and/or incremental opportunities for existing partners
•Review partner communications to help bring in-line with brand graphic standards
•Works closely with international licensing team to communicate brand and product strategies to drive growth and brand consistency across all geographies

Job Requirements


•Licensing / Negotiation experience and skills -- Knowledge of contracts, negotiations, and ongoing contract management/compliance
•Strong organization and project management skills - Adept at executing projects by handling deadlines, time pressure, and multiple demands. Highly organized and good at setting priorities.
•International Brand Management Experience - Experience in consumer goods marketing or brand management. Experience in global marketing roles a plus. Additional languages preferred.
•Strategic Thinker - Ability to apply strategic thinking in product marketing and overall business strategy. Creative thinker that can explore new territories in marketing.
•Solid interpersonal and communication skills -- Ability to work across teams to drive projects forward and deal with sensitive situations. Excellent verbal and written skills.

•The successful candidate will have 7 -- 10 years of relevant licensing and design/product development experience.
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
•MBA preferred
•Position located in Atlanta; up to 30% travel with a substantive amount of time in Chicago office in 2017/2018 (minimum 10 days per month)
