Bio – Jim Danahy

Jim Danahy, CEO CustomerLAB Advancements in Retail Productivity, Founding Partner, AdhereRx Inc,

A third generation retailer, Jim spent the first 16 years of his career in executive positions with large retail, consumer goods and marketing companies including Eaton’s Department Stores, PepsiCo, Young & Rubicam, Foster Advertising (now McCann Erickson), Corporate Foods (now Canada Bread) and Pizza Hut.

Since he established CustomerLAB in 1994, Jim and his team have devised and implemented scores of productivity and marketing initiatives for retailers, hospitality operators, manufacturers, distributors and health care providers across North and South America. He led projects to create Remedy’sRx, Canada’s first new retail pharmacy chain in 25 years, AdherenceTRACK, a healthcare benchmarking software and service, and most recently for Simpl™ a new program of health-related services and packaging offered through participating retailers. Through a strategic alliance with Trimingham of New York, he has led M&A and turnaround initiatives for retail and consumer goods companies in the United States since 1998.

Mr. Danahy is a founding partner of AdhereRx Inc., which specializes in advanced operational tools and processes for community pharmacies.

Jim is the founding Program Director of the Center of Excellence in Retail Leadership, Schulich Executive Education Centre in the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto.


Mr. Danahy is an expert witness on retail matters, is a jury member for Canada’s Product of the Year Awards and is a widely quoted authority in national business media including the Globe & Mail, National Post, New York Times, Associated Press, Canadian Press, CBC News, Maclean’s, BNN TV, Global News and various trade journals. Jim sits on the Boards of several industry and community organizations and is past chair of the national charity Hope Air. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ryerson University.
