Margaret Briffa – Bio
Margaret Briffa is a leading intellectual property solicitor and founder of Briffa. She graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1985, was admitted as a solicitor in England in 1987 and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys.
Margaret advises on all aspects of intellectual property protection and enforcement with a particular emphasis on dispute resolution.
Margaret is well-known for her commercial approach to the most complex problems which delivers clients the business solution they want.
While resolving disputes in the best way possible Margaret has represented clients in court on numerous design, trade mark, patent and copyright matters, most recently in the long running battle in the case brought by Magmatic, owner of the Trunki suitcase against a Chinese copy.
She is co-author of Law Society Publication ‘Design Law’ and writer of numerous articles on Intellectual Property. She is a firm believer in equipping clients with the skills to manage and grow their IP assets to add value to the business and keep them competitive.
