Welcome to licensing.org the website (the “Site”) for LIMA – The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association! LIMA values your privacy. LIMA has created this Privacy Policy to make its members and site visitors aware of the types of information LIMA collects in connection with the Site, how that information is used and under what circumstances LIMA may share that information with others. This policy may change at any time; any changes will be posted on this page. By using the Site and accessing the content contained within it, you signify that you understand and agree to the then-current version of this policy.

Types of Information Collected
LIMA may automatically collect certain information when you visit the Site, which may include your browser information, previous web pages visited and your IP address. This information does not personally identify you. The Site may also use “cookies” for purposes such as storing members’ passwords and preferences. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. If you edit your Internet browser to block cookies, you may be required to reenter certain information when you visit the Site and certain features of the Site may be unavailable to you.

LIMA does not require that anyone register in order to visit the Site. However, if you choose to use certain features of the Site, we may request that you register and provide certain personal information, such as your first and last name, business name, mailing address, e-mail address and the like. You may also be asked to provide such information to receive certain products or services from LIMA or to register to attend events. LIMA may also collect certain demographic data such as your zip code and gender.

If you pay your membership dues or an event registration fee using licensing.org, we will collect your name, billing address, shipping address, e-mail address, phone number(s) and credit card number (with expiration date).

When you communicate with LIMA by e-mail, post messages to licensing.org or otherwise complete online forms or surveys, LIMA may collect information you provide in doing so. Whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online (such as via the ASK LIMA forum), that information can be collected and used by others. You provide such information at your own risk.
How LIMA Uses the Information

In general, LIMA uses the personal information that you provide for the specific purpose for which the information was collected. For example, if you enquire about membership and provide your contact information online, LIMA will share that information with its membership department so that they may contact you. LIMA may monitor traffic patterns and Site usage in order to further develop the features and functionality of the Site and to enhance your online experience.

Who LIMA Shares Your Information With
If you pay your membership dues or an event registration fee using the Site, LIMA may share information about you and your transaction with other companies for the purpose of processing your transaction, including credit card authorization and fraud prevention. To protect the security of your information during transmission, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. LIMA will reveal only the last five digits of your credit card numbers when confirming a transaction. To process a transaction, it is necessary to transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company.

LIMA may disclose traffic data to its service providers and may share demographic (non-personal) data with advertisers and other third parties.

LIMA will not disclose or share any of the personal information you provide except as described in this policy. LIMA may share or disclose your information when it has your permission to do so or when LIMA has a good faith belief that such disclosure is mandated by law, including without limitation, disclosure to law enforcement or other government officials in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other activity that is illegal or may expose LIMA or you to liability.

Entities into which LIMA is merged, or to which its assets, the Site or operations have been transferred, will have access to and be able to use your personal information under the terms of this policy. Also, certain courts, such as U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, may have the authority under certain circumstances to permit your personal information to be shared or transferred to third parties without your permission.

Your California Privacy Rights
California Civil Code § 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information regarding their disclosure of personal information to third parties or affiliates for direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please write to us at the address provided below. Please allow 30 days for a response.

Not a Children’s Site
LIMA’s products and services are not marketed to children, and it does not knowingly collect any information from children.

The Site may contain links to other websites. LIMA is not responsible for the contents, operation or privacy practices of such websites.

This policy applies only to the Site and does not apply to websites of organizations, companies or persons that LIMA references or for which it provides a link.
