Studio 100 Media Adds Live Action Series "Drop Dead Weird" and "Random and Whacky" to its Catalog

Munich, October, 16th 2017 – Studio 100 Media has acquired the international distribution rights for “Drop Dead Weird” and “Random and Whacky”, two new live action series from Australia, which will be introduced at Mipcom, stand R7.C15 (Studio 100 Media) and R7.H3 (m4e).
“Drop Dead Weird” (26 x 24’), created by Sally Browning and Dean Cropp, is an hilarious comedy series, targeting kids 6-12 years and a second season (26 x 24’) is already in development for 2019. The series is an Australian/Irish co-production by Ambience Entertainment, Air Pig Productions and Telegael. Studio 100 Media will be handling the worldwide distribution rights outside of the show’s home territories. The series premiered on 25 September 2017 on RTÈ2 (Ireland) and launches on 7TWO and KidsOn7 in Australia this October.
“Drop Dead Weird’ follows the antics of an Australian family who have moved to Ireland to run their family B&B in a remote seaside village. However, things are slightly more complicated for the three children with both their parents recently becoming zombified. The kids must navigate through a new town, school and surrounding while harbouring the enormous secret that their parents are zombies. Their schemes, ideas and unexpected twists of fate are a constant source of adventure and hilarity.
Also targeted at kids of 6-12 years, the live action comedy “Random and Whacky” (15 x 24’) created by Monica O’Brien is a fast-paced, unpredictable series which aims to encourage kids to unleash their inner creativity. Season 2 (15 x 24’) is already in development, slated for delivery by end of 2019. Studio 100 Media will be distributing all rights worldwide, excluding Australia. The series premiered on Australia’s Channel 11 in summer 2017.
“Random and Whacky” is a top-secret agency that solves the problems faced by real life kids. A team of super agents provides advice to kids that no one would ever hear from a parent or teacher. Their solutions may not work, but they are always hilarious.
In February 2017 the Studio 100 Group acquired the majority interest in m4e AG.
