Smithsonian Libraries’ Seed Catalog Collection Provides Cornucopia of Beautiful, Vintage Artwork for Mega Puzzles

NEW YORK (April 24, 2015) – In a deal brokered by Knockout Licensing, Mega Brands America has launched a stunning puzzle line featuring colorful, vintage artwork from the Smithsonian Libraries’ Seed Catalog Collection.
“The Smithsonian Libraries’ Seed Catalog Collection is a treasure trove of beautiful artwork depicting colorful flowers, fruits, and vegetables in loving detail,” said Knockout Licensing Co-President Carole Postal. “The Smithsonian Libraries have done a magnificent job collecting and preserving these precious images and Mega Puzzles, in turn, has done a fantastic job translating images from that extensive digital collection into a wonderful range of puzzles.”
The Smithsonian Libraries’ Seed Catalog Collection includes high-resolution digitally-scanned artwork from thousands of beautifully illustrated vintage seed and nursery catalogs included in the Libraries’ Trade Literature Collection. In addition to bringing this artwork to products for people to enjoy, the Smithsonian Libraries’ Seed Catalog Collection licensing program helps generate revenue to support Smithsonian Libraries’ collections and projects.
