New Advertisers Flock to ToonsTV Including LEGO, Kellogg’s and Universal Home Entertainment Along With New Third Party Content Providers

Los Angeles, Calif., February 9, 2017 – Following the global box office success of The Angry Birds Movie this past summer, Rovio Entertainment Ltd. is launching a new weekly animated series Angry Birds Blues on March 10, 2017 exclusively through its ToonsTV platform. The Angry Birds Blues series, which was teased during the end credits of the movie, follows the mischievous blue bird triplets known as The Blues, and also features the colorful and adorable Hatchlings, who became breakout stars themselves.
“Since their first appearance in the 2015 viral holiday short, fans have not been able to get enough of the cute and loveable Hatchlings,” said ToonsTV Head Sanna Korppoo. “Angry Birds Blues ushers in a new era of original content from the Angry Birds franchise, to expand ToonsTV’s viewership base and lineup of high-quality programming, distribution and advertising partners.”
Each of the 30 episodes of Angry Birds Blues will premiere weekly on ToonsTV.
ToonsTV is also growing its stellar lineup of advertisers. LEGO, Kellogg’s and Universal Home Entertainment are now members of the platform’s high-profile roster, which also includes product, service and entertainment companies such as Crayola, Disney, FOX, General Mills, Hasbro, Mattel, McDonalds, Paramount, PBS, Sony Pictures and Spin Master. Similarly, MondoTV, BWO Berlin, Maurico de Sousa Producoes Eireli and Ideas at Work are slated to join ToonsTV’s third-party content partner roster, alongside the current partners like National Geographic, Aardman, Toonbox, Motion Pictures Distribution, Graphic India and others.
Launched in 2013, ToonsTV has earned more than six billion views to date. The platform boasts 600 videos across 30 channels, with new original and exclusive content programmed daily. The free ad-supported video platform – which is available on both iOS and Android – hosts full episodes of popular animated shows including Angry Birds Toons, Wallace & Gromit: Cracking Contraptions, Piggy Tales, Qumi-Qumi and Stella. Rovio Animation recently launched the “ToonsTV for Samsung” app, marking the first time that Rovio Animation has partnered with a company to exclusively release ToonsTV video.
