Gas Monkey Garage Goes Full Throttle with Eight Licensees

(September 15, 2014) The legendary Gas Monkey Garage, home of motor-mastermind Richard Rawlings and famous for turning rust to gold, is on the fast track to success – and taking its licensing program along for the ride! New York-based licensing agency, Brandgenuity, has secured four new Gas Monkey Garage licensing partnerships in a variety of categories including apparel, auto accessories, utility knives, welding accessories and more, bringing the program to eight licensees with more in the pipeline.
“Gas Monkey Garage is a lifestyle brand that goes beyond the TV,” said brand owner Richard Rawlings. “We are pumped to bring these new partners on board and give our fans more of the products they want.”
The four new Gas Monkey Garage licensees include Westchester (utility gloves & welding caps), Waterloo (tools, storage, and accessories), Gatco (utility knives) and MjC (sleepwear) and will leverage the signature Gas Monkey Garage style. These partners join anchor apparel and accessories licensees, Fifth Sun, Concept One, H3, and JCorp.
“From auto enthusiasts to garage groupies, people just can’t get enough of this brand,” said Jay Asher, Partner at Brandgenuity. “Richard Rawlings’ passion has helped transform the automotive category from traditional how-to to true autotainment with an edge. We believe there is a lot of room to grow with existing licensees and beyond as we continue to build the program.”
Boasting millions of social media followers and consistent top ratings on its hit Discovery show, “Fast ‘N Loud,” Gas Monkey Garage continues to gain momentum and attract passionate fans nationwide. The recent “Fast N’ Loud” season premiere delivered an average of 2.69 million viewers and claimed the number one spot on cable TV on Monday night. Beyond the show, the Gas Monkey Garage brand has successfully extended into two Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill locations in Dallas, with additional plans for a live concert venue to open this fall. Additionally, Rawlings now serves as the owner of a new car on the NHRA circuit.
Brandgenuity will continue to expand the Gas Monkey Garage licensing program strategically, with new partners in after-market auto accessories, apparel & accessories, gifts, gaming and more.
