CopCorp and TK Brand Group Join Forces to Form Knockout Licensing

BOO – The World’s Cutest Dog™ Is New Agency’s Inaugural Property
NEW YORK (April 30, 2012) – CopCorp Licensing and TK Brand Group announce the formation of Knockout Licensing (www.knockoutlicensign.com) as a full-service licensing agency for big-name brands. The new agency is a joint venture, with Carole Postal, President of CopCorp, and Tamra Knepfer, President of TK Brand Group, as Co-Presidents of Knockout Licensing.
Knockout will be launching several client brands at Licensing Expo in Las Vegas but its first announced client for global licensing is BOO – The World’s Cutest Dog™. This Facebook sensation already has over four million fans (and growing). Chronicle Books released “Boo: The Life of the World’s Cutest Dog” and sales are so strong that Chronicle will unleash BOO’s second book, “Little Dog in the Big City” this summer as well as a 2013 calendar. Plush by Gund is already hitting retail, with additional items in development. Given BOO’s strong following from around the world, Knockout is now in discussions not only with domestic licensees but also manufacturers and other potential partners regarding licensing or representation overseas.
CopCorp and TK Brand Group will continue to maintain independent agencies and support their respective clients.
“When I first met Carole, I could tell that we had similar goals and work ethic, yet complimentary skills and professional networks that – when combined – would make us a more powerful force in the licensing industry,” said Knepfer.
“CopCorp has been a very successful agency over the past 16 years and, when thinking about the future, we knew we had to make a bold move to grow and go head-to-head with larger agencies for some of the best new properties to represent,” explained Postal. “Joining up with Tamra to form Knockout expands our expertise to a deeper knowledge of the entertainment and children’s market, as well as new media which are key areas of growth for us. We are already fully operational and extremely excited about this partnership and the future of Knockout!”
Knockout Licensing will be exhibiting its roster of client properties (including not only BOO – The World’s Cutest Dog but also several soon-to-be-announced big-name brands) at the 2012 Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas, Booth #5317.
