Job Description


We are looking for an organized, reliable, and creative self-starter to support and contribute to our Licensing and Custom Program Departments.

Our departments offer a range of services from art books to comic programs, full-color illustrations, and products based on clients' intellectual property. From creation to distribution of materials, we assist each step of the way with our experience and an unwavering commitment to quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

" Maintain and help expand lists of current and potential licensing and sales clients and projects.
" Develop ideas for custom projects from our current comic, book, and product programs.
" Assist in communicating details of licensing contracts to interdepartmental stakeholders as needed.
" Create accurate and engaging oral and written licensing and custom proposals and presentations for internal and external partners.
" Assist in developing and tracking schedules for licensing and custom projects, and in communicating key dates to internal and external departments.
" Work with licensors and vendors on time-sensitive approvals and requests.
" Track and provide regular updates for assigned licensing and custom publishing and product development projects.
" Coordinate approvals submitted by licensees of Dark Horse-owned and
-represented properties with their respective creators and owners.
" Develop project budgets and invoices at milestones, among other financial tasks.
" Collect and share shipping information from clients in order to provide timely and accurate delivery of goods.
" Schedule and manage itineraries for business travel, meetings, and business-to-business events.
" Attend and represent Dark Horse Comics in a professional manner in various business-to-business and consumer-facing events.

Job Requirements


" Associates or equivalent experience.


" Ability to work full-time and on-site at our Milwaukie, OR office.
" Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
" Talent for prioritizing, organizing, and multi-tasking to meet deadlines.
" Proven ability to remain focused in an open office setting.
" Proficient communication and flexibility to interact with a variety of personalities.
" A strong desire to collaborate, share, listen, and learn!


" Familiarity with basic sales and licensing terminology.
" Knowledge of any of the following: comics industry, book publishing, toy/collectible industry, product development.
" Familiarity with domestic and international shipping and distribution.
" An interest in popular culture, including comics, manga, TV/movies, video games, etc.


Depending upon experience up to $42,000 annually
