  • ImageLIMA Australia is very excited to announce that the first LIMA Australia & New Zealand Licensing Awards evening will be taking this November at Leonda on the Yarra in Melbourne. This high profile event will feature licensing property awards, licensed product and retail awards, as well as the introduction of a LIMA Australia Hall of Fame Inductee.

  • Entry Process and Judging Criteria

    The following are eligible for entry:

    • Licensors
    • Licensing Agents
    • Licensees & Manufacturers
    • Retailers who sell Licensed product
    • Promotions that utilised Licensed properties and/or Licensed product
    • Locations or events that utilised Licensed properties

    Program, product or promotion must involve one specific licensed property and must have been available at retail from 1 July, 2017 – 30 June, 2018. Entry into multiple categories is permitted. The deadline for receipt of submissions is 5pm on Friday August 10, 2018. Entries will not be accepted after this time and date.

  • Categories of Entry


    The LIMA Australia panel of licensing experts will review and score each entry and up to five entrants per category will be placed on the ballot and LIMA Australia members will then vote for the winner.

    The final voting tallies will be comprised of 50% from the judging panel and 50% from LIMA Members.

    To be eligible for entry within the product awards the range must be licensed from a third party and must be locally developed in Australia & New Zealand.

    You may enter in any of the categories - a separate online entry must be submitted for each category you enter.

    Licensing

    Infant or Pre-school License of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding infant or pre-school License which is based on a Film, Television, Character or Entertainment property. This award covers Licenses targeted at children aged 0 – 6 years.

    Girl’s License of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding girl’s License which is based on a Film, Television, Character or Entertainment property. This award covers Licenses targeted at girls aged 5 – 12 years.

    Boy’s License of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding boy’s License which is based on a Film, Television, Character or Entertainment property. This award covers Licenses targeted at boys aged 5 – 12 years.

    Digital, Video Game or New Media License of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding Digital, Video Game or New Media License. This award covers all age groups.

    Brand, Corporate, Fashion or Art License of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding Brand, Corporate, Fashion or Art license. This award covers all age groups.

    Sports License of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding Sports license. This award covers all age groups.

    Product

    Apparel, accessories or soft lines licensing product or campaign of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding Licensed apparel, accessories or soft lines product or campaign. This award covers all age groups and examples include Licensed t-shirts, hats, footwear, bags, jewellery and bedding.

    Hard lines licensing product or campaign of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding Licensed hard lines product or campaign. This award covers all age groups and examples include Licensed toys, outdoor, showbags, giftware, electronics and home entertainment.

    Publishing and paper goods licensing product or campaign of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding Licensed publishing and paper goods product or campaign. This award covers all age groups and examples include Licensed books, stationery, greeting cards, calendars and posters.

    FMCG, Licensed promotions and events product or campaign of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding Licensed FMCG, promotion, events product or campaign. This award covers all age groups and examples include Licensed food, packaged goods, on-pack promotions, restaurant promotions and live events.

    Licensing product innovation of the Year - This award recognises the most outstanding Licensing innovation over the past 12 months. This award looks at new and exciting ways that Licensing and brands can be used outside traditional channels across all ages.

    Retail

    Best Retailer for Film, Television, Character and Entertainment Licensed products - This award recognises the most outstanding cross category retailer of Licensed products for Film, Television, Character and Entertainment Licensed properties for all age groups. This retailer has demonstrated support across multiple categories and multiple properties as well as supported ranges with marketing activities.

    Best Retailer for Brand, Corporate, Fashion, Art and Digital Licensed products - This award recognises the most outstanding cross category retailer of Licensed products for Brand, Corporate, Fashion, Art and Digital Licensed properties for all age groups. This retailer has demonstrated support across multiple categories and multiple properties as well as supported ranges with marketing activities.

    Best Retailer for Sports Licensed products - This award recognises the most outstanding cross category retailer of Licensed products for Sports Licensed properties for all age groups. This retailer has demonstrated support across multiple categories and multiple properties as well as supported ranges with marketing activities.

    Best Online Retailer for Licensed products - This award recognises the most outstanding cross category online retailer of Licensed products for all age groups. This retailer has demonstrated support across multiple categories and multiple properties as well as supported ranges with marketing activities.

    Best Retail Marketing Campaign (in-store, online, social media) for Licensed products - This award recognises the most outstanding retail marketing campaign supporting a Licensed product or products and a Licensed property or properties for all age groups. This retailer has demonstrated support across multiple marketing mediums to drive product sales.

  • In order to be considered:

    You must write a short statement of up to 300 words explaining to the Awards Committee why you believe your entry is deserving of recognition on the LIMA Australia Awards Ballot.

    To be eligible for entry within the product awards the range must be licensed from a third party and must be locally developed in Australia and New Zealand.

    Property & Product - Awards criteria includes:

    1. Creativity, Originality, and Innovation - What was special about the property, product, or promotion?
    2. Marketplace Acceptance - How was the product, program, or promotion received in the marketplace in terms of placement, sell-through or achievement of other goals?
    3. Note: You should include only the most important and relevant information that will support your nomination. The inclusion of retail sales dollars and number of doors are very helpful to the Committee when considering your entry. This information will be kept confidential and will not be released.

    4. Write a paragraph of 100 words or less describing the highlights and successes of your entry. If your entry is selected, this statement will be included with the ballot to help the voters make their choices.
    5. Provide a maximum of three high-resolution (300 dpi) digital image of your property or product in one of the following formats: JPEG, TIFF, or EPS. If your entry is selected for the ballot, this image will be included in the Awards Presentation. Your submission will not be considered without an image.
    6. Samples – No samples will be received or considered for the nomination or voting process.

    Retail - Awards criteria includes:

    1. Overall support for Licensed products; how has the retailer demonstrated support across multiple categories for multiple licensed properties?
    2. Marketing support for Licensed products; how has the retailer worked with Licensors and Licensees in implementing compelling marketing campaigns to promote the sale of Licensed products (ie POS, in-store activations, online marketing)?
    3. Note: You should include only the most important and relevant information that will support your nomination. The inclusion of retail sales dollars and number of doors are very helpful to the Committee when considering your entry. This information will be kept confidential and will not be released.

    4. Write a paragraph of 100 words or less describing the highlights and successes of your entry. If your entry is selected, this statement will be included with the ballot to help the voters make their choices.
    5. Provide a maximum of three high-resolution (300 dpi) digital image of your licensed retail activations in one of the following formats: JPEG, TIFF, or EPS. If your entry is selected for the ballot, this image will be included in the Awards Presentation. Your submission will not be considered without an image.
