Licensing World Russia – We unite Russia’s licensing market

Licensing World RussiaThe largest licensing industry-related event, which annually gathers specialists from Russia and beyond, ran in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center in Moscow from February 28-March 2, 2017.
This year’s instalment of Licensing World Russia again shared premises with the International Trade Fair for our Children’s World, Kids Russia 2017.
During three days it was running, Licensing World Russia was visited by 1,430 industry professionals and its
exhibitors represented 32 companies from Russia, UK, Italy and South Korea. The list of exhibitors is available at: http://www.licensingworld.ru/conf2017/visitors/list-exhibitors/
The fair featured all licensing categories, including characters and toys, sports, fashion and lifestyle, household items, care products, foodstuffs, stationery and gifts.
The partners of Licensing World Russia 2017 included Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products in cooperation with licensing agency Pullman Licensing LLC (general partner), Total Licensing magazine (general information partner), 1001 Licenses magazine (strategic partner), and Vestnik of Licensing Market (official information partner).
“This is Russia’s key licensing fair. It has become the place where everyone who has anything to do with licenses can find out what is going on the licensing market. Also coming here are new companies, which are for the first time eyeing the opportunity of dealing in licensed products. This year the number of such companies was 10% larger than a year ago,” Petya Toncheva, Nickelodion Viacom Consumer Products licensing director for Russia, CIS, Ukraine and the Baltic States, stressed.
In addition to colorful exhibits, the event attracted visitors by its rich business program. Over the three days it ran, the Licensing World Russia business forum was attended by representatives of Russian and foreign companies, licensors, right holders, licensing agencies, representatives of the authorities, television companies, and licensing industry experts. The event’s business program focused on analytical information on the licensing industry, issues related to the foods and drinks market and licensing of sports brands, specifics of dealing with museum brands, issues of licensing in certain segments of the consumer goods market and combating counterfeiting practices.
Also, much attention was devoted to the presentations of the exhibitors. Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products, Pullman Licensing, licensing agency Melnitsa and STS TV channel shared their new developments and plans for the future.
“The Russian licensing market is rather young, but a fairly promising market. For the three days of being here I’ve managed to get acquainted with the companies and brands, and I can safely say that what I see here are exactly the same trends, which can be seen at foreign licensing fairs. I believe that with such tempos of growth and development, Russian brands have excellent chances of winning the world as “Masha and the Bear” themed products have already done,” Rebecca Ash, Total Licensing editorial director, noted.
Licensing World Russia fair is the place where popular characters, action figures and images come together with “No Name” products to ensure mutual success for licensors and licensees.
